Drawn to Move: Finding the Line Between Drawing and Dance

Discover how the acts of drawing and movement connect and work as tools for finding a deeper awareness of your body. No experience necessary. Come with an openness to trying out various drawing materials and ways of moving your body. Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

Lara Hanson is an interdisciplinary artist, focusing on the place where dance and drawing meet. She has been drawing the human body in motion for over 25 years, working with locally and internationally known dancers, choreographers and companies, including Minneapolis-based Black Label Movement and Swiss choreographer/dancer Tiziana Arnaboldi. She has developed and is continually working on a personal practice of drawing her own movement as a tool for healing and mindfulness.

Workshop fee: $45 (includes drawing materials)
