YARRRH! The Lusty, Busty Pirate Musical & Have YARRHSELF a Lusty, Busty Xmas!

WHAT THE HELL IS FORTUNE’S FOOL DOING TO CELEBRATE?

We could bake a cake. But that would be boring and fattening. Instead, we’re giving a present to you, our loyal audience members and donors: two hour-long musicals—something old and something new!

  • YARRRH! THE LUSTY, BUSTY PIRATE MUSICAL, a remount of the biggest hit in our history, a swashbuckling sendup that skewers pirate tropes and traditional gender roles.

  • HAVE YARRRHSELF A LUSTY, BUSTY XMAS!, a world premiere sequel that takes on the holidays, billionaires, and American politics with the same saucy cheek.

A Very Bearded Holiday with Friends!

Prepare yourselves for an improvised holiday movie experience like no other - and we mean that in the worst way possible. Come and watch as the Beards weave a tangled mess of holiday tropes together in a desperate attempt to add a little more nostalgia to the world. Each show will be filled to the brim with awkward trips to small towns, indefensible holiday traditions, and possibly an erotic snowball fight. And that's not all! The Beards are honored to be joined by Babe Train (Dec. 11) and Heaven's Precious Angels (Dec. 18), two renowned Twin Cities improv groups, who will each be bringing their own amazing flavor of holiday cheer to the show. Yule never see the holidays the same way again.

Not Your Mother's Silent Night

Roz Prickel returns for another year of festivity at the Hive! Well known is Roz's love of the holiday season, but what is less well known is that she has curated her own original christmas music over the years. Enough to fill an entire album or even to make a full length musical one day! For now, it's just exciting to gather for an evening and hear them all along with the stories behind the music. It is truly the perfect way to traipse through what she affectionately calls "Bermuda Triangle Week." Nothing like original tunes and good clean humor to get you safely though that pesky time between Christmas and New Years without a scratch.

(Not) An Ordinary Bike Ride by Michael Wolfe

A simple bike ride to Stillwater takes an unexpected turn, leaving the rider stranded and searching. The Bike Ride is a solo performance that transforms misadventure into meditation: on the vulnerability of asking for help, the resilience of humor, and the defiant grace of holding two truths at once—that life can be hard, and still beautiful. With warmth, wit, and candor, the piece reminds us that hope is not naïve, but a practice—a way of moving forward even when the path feels uncertain.
